1. The game
Wiki-Go is a free collectible card game. Each card stands for a Wikipedia article: open boosters, complete your collection, trade and sell your cards to other players for Wikibucks, the in-game currency.
Wiki-Go is published by Hermann Philippe, sole trader (see the legal notice). By creating an account, you accept these terms.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account: the game has a public chat and a player-to-player market.
- One account per person. Extra accounts used to feed a main account are not allowed.
- Your username is public. It must not impersonate anyone, be offensive or misleading.
- You are responsible for your password. Tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
- The language you pick when you create your account is permanent: it decides which cards you can find in boosters.
3. Wikibucks and cards
Wikibucks (W) and cards are game items. They have no monetary value: they can’t be converted into money, refunded or transferred outside the game. You get a personal right to use your cards, within the game.
Selling, buying or trading cards, Wikibucks or accounts for real money or any benefit outside the game is forbidden and may lead to the account being suspended.
4. Packs
The contents of a booster are drawn at random on our servers, when you open it, with a cryptographic random generator. The odds of each rarity are published on the booster odds page and apply to every player the same way.
5. Market and trades
The market and trades only use Wikibucks, between players. They may only open after a certain account age or level. No fee is taken. A completed auction or an accepted trade is final.
6. Pro subscription and purchases
Some options are paid (Pro subscription). Prices are shown including all taxes before any payment. Payments are handled by a specialised provider, Stripe. Real-money purchases are reserved for adults.
Right of withdrawal: the Pro subscription and purchased boosters are digital content supplied immediately, without a physical medium. By confirming a purchase, you request immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once it is supplied (activation of the subscription or delivery of the booster to your account), in accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code. A purchase that is not supplied is refunded.
7. Fair play
- Be respectful in chat and messages: no insults, harassment, hateful, violent or sexual content.
- Don’t share personal data (yours or anyone else’s).
- No cheating: bots, exploits, location spoofing in GO mode, multiple accounts.
If these rules are broken, we may hide messages, restrict features, suspend or close an account. You can report a message or a player from within the game.
8. Wikipedia content
Card texts come from Wikipedia and are shared under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license (CC BY-SA 4.0). Images come from Wikimedia Commons, under free licenses; the author and license of each image are shown on the card’s page. Wikipedia is a trademark of the Wikimedia Foundation; Wiki-Go is not affiliated with the Wikimedia Foundation.
9. Availability and liability
We do our best to keep the game available and bug-free, but can’t guarantee it. The game may change: rules, balancing, rarities and features can evolve to keep things fair and fun.
10. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from the settings. Your personal data is then erased; cards and transactions stay in the game’s history under an anonymous name, to keep the books fair.
11. Changes and governing law
We may change these terms; you’ll be told in the game before any major change takes effect. These terms are governed by French law.
